Over the course of the years, I’ve had six cellphones. The first one I got, was on my 2nd year of primary school, due to the fact that my school was not that close to home. So, if anything should happen, I could phone my mommy easily and all would be well. It was a very old Motorola phone, with a big antenna.

My second phone, which I had for a very short time, was a Mitsubishi phone with a small lid on the keyboard. With antenna as well. At the time, I wasn’t minimally interested in anything to do with cellphones, nor did it get me more friends at that time.

Both phones were taken from my hands, at some point. Can’t remember how…

Next, I used a Phillips. As you can tell, those models are old enough that I can’t even begin to know the models. I think it was never activated (due to the fact that I didn’t have a SIM card to put in it. Oh well), so it was just something that I chose to have in my pocket. Heavy bastard. Had an antenna, as well.

In middle school, I got a Nokia 1100. It was really cool. A pleasant experience. Nothing to fancy, it just worked well. It worked just like the 3310 or the 3330, back in the day, but it was slightly more well-developed in terms of overall quality, ‘software’, hardware, and all that. Plus, it had a flashlight. An d we all know that flashlights are the coolest thing ever.

Anyway. It fell twice. Twice. On its first fall - I was sitting with my knees up, and, being the little thing so slimmery (slippery+slim), it fell off my pocket. The lower half of the screen = broken. It was amazing. Of course the second fall was a lot more interesting to tell. I was annoying my youngest older sister, by playing the (actually) annoying - yet pretty - Badinerie tune and making it vibrate against her face and whatnot. She was walking away and I was following her. Hey, whattya want, I was 11. At one point, she fed up, and gesticulated for me to stop. Well, her gesticulations hit my phone and poof, there it was - gone.

Some time passed and, I think in 2007, I got the LG KG220. Such an annoyingly slow phone. Writing messages was a pain in the pattootie. You had to wait for it to react to every single button-press so that you could go on and write the following individual letters of the longest word ever. It lasted quite a bit. Until 2008. It was the longest any phone lasted in my hands. I swear it’s not me. It’s their fault. Its screen cracked while in my pocket. While I was sitting on the car. Yep.

Next up is the Nokia 3110c, which I got the following Christmas, I believe. It worked pretty good. Great response time in everything, except the music player. Loved it to bits. Due to my, ahem, cellphone history, my mother made an insurance for the guy. After about a year, the On/Off key stopped working. Crap.

I found a solution, after it completely, completely stopped working. I’d stick a guitar pick in a small crevice just in front of the key, twitch it a little, and voilá. Well, after a while, that stopped working. And, after another while, the screen (the sensor must be real close to that area) didn’t display any picture. Just black. Oh well… got a new one, because it was still under warranty. Worked even better than the previous one, and was a lot faster. It worked fantastically… until… yesterday. Throughout 2010, this one’s On/Off key stopped working too! The ‘quick-fix’ program was reapplied - only this time, instead of a guitar pick, I used the metal tip from a pencil - only to, yesterday morning, come to the same result - Screen=Dead. So, now, I have my phone connected to the Nokia Ovi Suite, which I like very much and, if you’re a Nokia phone user, you should definitely check it out, so that I can check my messages and reply to them.

Now, what’s interesting, is that this phone was discontinued, a while back. What’s so interesting about that? Well, I’ve just ordered another Nokia - the E63. Which has also been discontinued in favor of the E71 and C3. Well, we’ll see how this goes. My first Smartphone. I’m pretty jazzed about it. Sturdy, sexy, working. All the features a phone should have.

That, and that it needs to be able to keep itself together in my hands for more than 30 seconds.
